Fawwaz Traboulsi is associate professor of Political Science and History at the Lebanese American University, and the American University of Beirut. Dr. Traboulsi has been a visiting professor at New York University, the University of Michigan, Columbia University, and Cairo University, and a fellow at St. Antony’s College, Oxford, and the Wissenshaftskolleg, Berlin. His books, papers and articles have dealt with the history, politics, social movements, political philosophy, folklore, and art in the Arab World. Dr. Traboulsi’s translations include Edward Said’s Out of Place and Humanism and Democratic Critique. And his latest publication is A History of Modern Lebanon (in English and Arabic, 2007).
