Hussam R. Ahmed is Assistant Professor of History at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth where he teaches the history of the modern Middle East. A social and cultural historian, Ahmed holds a PhD from McGill University and has held postdoctoral fellowships at KU Leuven and the University of Cambridge. His recent book, The Last Nahdawi: Taha Hussein and Institution Building in Egypt came out in June 2021 with Stanford University Press.
