This book addresses the contribution of art to democracy. More specifically, it examines the contribution of Iranian women in the diaspora to artistic and literary production, and how this contribution can be political as well as aesthetic.

Mehraneh Ebrahimi has a PhD in Comparative Literature from Western University in Canada and is currently teaching English at Seneca College. Her book, Women, Art, and Literature in the Iranian Diaspora is published by Syracuse University Press. She has taught her own course at Western University on Graphic Novels. She is now writing her family memoir and planning to start a Post-Doc.
