Paul Aarts and Mouin Rabbani
Paul Aarts has been a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the Department of Political Science (University of Amsterdam) for more than thirty years. He mainly works in the field of Middle East politics, the Persian Gulf region in particular. He developed the 'Zeytun Academic Exchange' program with academic institutes in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Morocco. Among his publications: Saudi Arabia. Mouin Rabbani has published and commented widely on Palestinian affairs, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the contemporary Middle East. He was previously Senior Analyst Middle East and Special Advisor on Israel-Palestine with the International Crisis Group, and head of political affairs with the Office of the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria.
