Rasmus C Elling is a sociologically-inclined historian studying Iranian modernity through four attention points: ideology, political movements, ethnicity, and urbanism. He has published extensively about ethnic minorities, nationalism, social movements, university politics, oil urbanism, and urban violence. His books include Minorities in Iran: Nationalism and Ethnicity after Khomeini (2013) and Irans moderne historie (in Danish, 2019).
Sune Haugbolle is Professor of Global Middle East Studies at Roskilde University and a political sociologist focusing on social memory, history of the Left, and solidarity movements in and out of the Middle East. His books include War and Memory in Lebanon (2010), The Arab Archive (2020), and Altered States: Remaking of the Political in the Arab World (2022).
