David Theo Goldberg

David Theo Goldberg is Distinguished Professor of Anthropology, and also holds appointments in Comparative Literature, and Criminology, Law and Society at the University of California, Irvine. He directed the systemwide University of California Humanities Research Institute from 2000-2022. Goldberg’s work ranges over issues of race and racism; social, political, and critical  theory; the impact of digital technology on human futures; and on higher education. His numerous books include Dread: Facing Futureless Futures (2021); Are We All Postracial Yet? (Polity, 2015);  and most recently The War on Critical Race Theory: Or, The Remaking of Racism (2023) and Liberal Arts in a Future Tense (2023).
