Geoffrey Fitzgibbon Hughes is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has written about a number of facets of contemporary Middle Eastern marriage practices, including the information infrastructure of Jordan's Sharia Courts and Islamic training courses that seek to educate newlyweds about marriage. He is currently working on his first book, tentatively titled, Affection and Mercy: Kinship, Islam, and the Management of Marriage in Jordan.
MESPI is a curated interactive platform for ME studies resources specifically tailored for the needs of teachers, researchers, and students. It will be the one-stop shop for course design on the macro level, lesson planning on the micro level, and for scholarship vis-a-vis specific topics, countries, and disciplines.
