Thank you for your interest in Jadaliyya. We welcome all submissions. The most significant requirement is for Jadaliyya submissions to be analytically compelling and offer a perspective or argument that has not been covered at length either on Jadaliyya or elsewhere. Because of the volume of submissions, well-written pieces are prioritized. Length is flexible, 1000 to 2500 words is the average range. However, we will accept longer pieces. Once submitted, several members of the editorial committee will review your piece and one of them will inform you of the decision.

Anthony Alessandrini and the Middle East Studies Pedagogy Initiative (MESPI)

Anthony Alessandrini is a Professor of English at Kingsborough Community College and the MA Program in Middle Eastern Studies at The Graduate Center of The City University of New York, where he is also a member of the Committee on Globalization and Social Change. He is the author of Frantz Fanon and the Future of Cultural Politics: Finding Something Different (Lexington, 2014); the editor of Frantz Fanon: Critical Perspectives; and the co-editor of the JadMag special issue "Resistance Everywhere": The Gezi Protests and Dissident Visions of Turkey. Recent articles have appeared in Foucault Studies, Journal of French and Francophone Philosophy, Reconstruction, and Social Text: Periscope. He is a member of the faculty of the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research. He is a Co-Editor of Jadaliyya E-Zine and co-edits the Reviews Page, the NEWTON Page, and the Turkey Page.


MESPI is a curated interactive platform for ME studies resources specifically tailored for the needs of teachers, researchers, and students. It will be the one-stop shop for course design on the macro level, lesson planning on the micro level, and for scholarship vis-a-vis specific topics, countries, and disciplines.
