Nicola Pratt and the Middle East Studies Pedagogy Initiative (MESPI)
Nicola Pratt is Associate Professor (Reader) in the Politics and International Studies Department at the University of Warwick, UK. She teaches and researches on the international politics of the Middle East, with a particular interest in feminist approaches as well as ‘politics from below.’ Her work has appeared in Security Dialogue, Social Politics, International Studies Quarterly, Third World Quarterly and Review of International Studies, amongst others. She has written and co-edited a number of books on women, gender and the Middle East. Her most recent monograph, entitled, Embodying Geopolitics: Generations of Women’s Activism in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon, will be published by University of California Press in fall 2020. She led the AHRC-funded project, ‘Politics and Popular Culture in Egypt: Contested Narratives of the 25 January 2011 Revolution’ (2016-2020) and is also Vice President of the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies (BRISMES).
