Hamma Hammami and Monica Marks

Hamma Hammami is the spokesman of the Tunisian Workers’ Party and the leader of the Popular Front. He is the former editor of the newspaper El Badil; author of eleven books on politics and economics, including two on women’s rights; and husband of famed human rights lawyer Radhia Nasraoui. He played key leadership roles in the 2005 October Eighteenth Movement and in the 2011 Tunisian revolution.


Monica Marks is Assistant Professor of Political Science and Arab Crossroads Studies at New York University, Abu Dhabi. She has researched and written extensively on Tunisian politics since 2011.
